For those of us who are energized by the outdoors, this last month has been a difficult time. If you’re adhering to social distancing but miss traveling, there’s still ways to get outside – virtually!
Spring is beginning to appear in parts of the U.S. and that sun we love is starting to appear more. If you’re able to be outdoors, safely social distancing away from others, you’re one of the lucky ones! For those of you who can’t, there are some fun online tours you can enjoy.
Virtually Visit National Parks
If you enjoy the cold and dream of visiting Alaska, Kenai Fjords National Park may be on your bucket list. On this virtual tour, get outside with a park ranger who’ll take you through some of the stunning glacial scenery. Look inside a crevasse, watch a glacier melt, and kayak through some icy waters. If you watch this one, report back and let us know what you think!
After Alaska, you can do a complete 180 and visit the Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park. Take a look at footage of lava tubes, relax in a rainforest, and learn about the formation of volcanic cliffs. Finish up your tour with a flyover of an active volcano.
Art Museums From Your Home
If it’s an indoor cultural activity that you seek, consider an art museum. Whether you’re a beginner or an aficionado, homeschooling art class with your kids, or just want to look at some beautiful art, consider virtually touring one of these museums around the world. Hop over to New York and look inside the MOMA or The Met. Get Greek-inspired at the Acropolis Museum. Dream of Paris while taking a look at art in the Musee del l’Orangerie.
Hang in there, everyone! We’re all in this together and soon enough we’ll all be back out there hiking and traveling and appreciating, more than ever, all that
